M is getting very clingy these days. So its real hard to get things done. With cooking cleaning and working with for R I have hardly any time left to do activities with M that need some preparation. Mostly I squeeze in my prep work while she naps but I also want to take that time for rest.

So I decided to do the prep work over the weekend so that I can quickly set up the activities. Also building the activities around a theme will streamline my planning process. Saves a lot of aimless scrolling in Pinterest.
This week we did activities based on the most common theme chosen by many in September- APPLES

We could visit an Apple orchard over the weekend which was a fun experience for them to pluck and bag the apples straight from the tree. The weather was so good that we just wanted to hang out there. We counted , named and ate them!!
We could also visit a corn maze that was the specialty of that orchard. It was themed around NASCAR. Had fun chasing around, getting lost and a great physical activity and fun for the whole family.

To start off our apple week I did a sensory bin using split green grams, cinnamon sticks and some leaves. Used the same apples we collected from orchard.

The little cups caught M’s attention and she enjoyed scooping and transferring the green grams. I love it when she carefully try to pour it without spilling. A great eye hand coordination is working there.

R sorted the apples on muffin tin and covered them with green gram. He also stacked them, hid them in the pail and spelled the word apple.
